I could really use that smooth drive across the country, stopping off at the biggest ball of twine, and eating dinner at Billy Bob's Greasy Steak House. I just want to sit in a big American car and rumble down the road, watching hills and yellow stripes from the passenger seat while a really good friend, or ahem, that "someone" drives with their hand on the shifter even though the car's not a stick. Yeah. I could really use that right now.

It was an absolutely Beeeee-autiful day in San Francisco on this Valentine's Day. Megan and I explored the Exploratorium... chasing little kids away from our experiments, and leaving our shadows imprinted on walls. It was quiet a day. We then got ourselves lost in a lovely Marina District neighborhood... commenting on houses as well as wedding dresses. We saw about four weddings in all.... and LOTS of men with flowers. Not to mention... about a few hundred people lined up at city hall to get marriage licenses before some ridiculous people try and overturn the gay marriage ruling. It was lovely. I took my first ride on MUNI where we met up with Fred and Clio in Union Square.. I had never been there before. We sat, sipping our coffee and people watching (and wedding watching). In the last wedding.. the bride looked a little uncomfortable... and in front of the Levi's store we witnessed some horendous couple fighting. How sad for Vday...and completely marriage-unrelated. All in all.. couldn't have asked for a better day. I bought a plane ticket home for spring break... cheap on Southwest... $39 each way. Then, ate some brownies care of Fred, and watched Mallrats. Lovely lovely lovely.

04:07 pm - Plan B: Be a famous rock star

I'm at work (the perfect time to be updating livejournals) and feelin a little extra internal today. Its been a pretty crazy quarter thus far but at the same time its been feeling pretty mechanical. (I know exactly how many weeks we have left to go) I am absolutely addicted to the West Wing this quarter, where as in the past it was only a passing fancy. Now I'm having excited conversations with Megan about Tobey's ex-wife's twins and how communist candidates look just like everyone else. ;) (quel thought) I'm sure if it wasn't for Megan I would be getting a lot more homework done, (hehe) but life in Apartment A would be very depressing without her.

I found out today that my roommate isn't coming back this quarter. The day she left we got a call about a different new housemate, pretty crazy...so lets just say the dynamics are a little off at the moment. (I've got some muffins I'm totally ready to eat now, tho). Caroline got off easy. =)

The senior seminar course has been consistently breathing down my neck since January 5th. 25 pages on the unreality of love traced through Apulieus's Cupid and Psyche to Gerard de Nerval of France. Yay. And I even chose that subject.

Next quarter I'm going to be as lazy as possible in preparation for the laziest summer imaginable. If my summer isn't all about driving around in the countryside and reading books I've always wanted, but never had a chance to read- there's gonna be hell to pay. Either that, or maybe I'll joing a rock band. There's always that as a fall back.

So I guess until then, I better keep my goals small. Triplets of Belleville this weekend. Any takers? You better wanna see it, Jessica, cuz I'm calling you. =)
